CRC and ICHC to Co-Locate with ConExpo and ProMat in 2011

June 3, 2010—More than 370 people from six countries and 31 U.S. states attended the first Crane & Rigging Conference (CRC) in May in Houston, Texas. Held concurrently with the Industrial Crane & Hoist Conference (ICHC), the two events drew mobile and overhead crane users, as well as trainers, project managers, fleet managers, and key suppliers.

These individuals represented approximately 180 different organizations, which included large general contractors, engineering firms, oil and gas companies, public utilities, crane rental specialists, crane operator certifiers, and a variety of related services and suppliers.

Based on the success of the event, Maximum Capacity Media, publisher of Crane Hot Line, Lift and Access, and Industrial Lift and Hoist magazines, will host three related events in 2011.

Due to overwhelming feedback from the attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors, CRC and ICHC will return to Houston, Texas, in July 2011. “This will be held in conjunction with the highly successful Reach Expo,” said Mark Bridger, director of business development for Maximum Capacity Media. “At the 2010 event, more than 40 companies representing crane manufacturers, rigging gear, training and certification agencies, and other equipment exhibited during Reach Expo.”

Maximum Capacity Media will stage an additional CRC event to be co-located with ConExpo in Las Vegas, Nev., in March 2011. “I am very excited that ConExpo/ConAgg has invited us to co-locate our event with the 2011 trade show. As one of the two largest construction equipment expositions in the world, the show typically hosts thousands of crane owners, operators, and rigging professionals. Partnering CRC with ConExpo makes it possible to promote the safe and productive use of cranes to a much larger audience,” said Guy Ramsey, president of Maximum Capacity Media.

“We placed extra focus on lifting equipment at the 2008 ConExpo-Con/Agg and we want to build on that in 2011 and beyond,” said Megan Tanel, vice president exhibitions and events for the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). “Co-locating the Crane & Rigging Conference with next year’s show will help strengthen the value of our event for the lifting industry and the contractors that use lifting equipment,” she said.

Likewise, ICHC will be co-located with ProMat 2011 in Chicago, Ill, also occurring in March 2011. Hal Vandiver, executive vice president of the Material Handling Industry of America, which is the organizer of ProMat, was on hand at the May 2010 conference to make the announcement.

“ConExpo and ProMat are both premier shows for their respective audiences and we look forward to the mutual benefits that will be derived from our collaborations,” said Ramsey.
